Samarangana Sutradhara is an encyclopedic work on classical Indian architecture (Vastu Shastra) written by Paramara King Bhoja of Dhar (1000–1055 AD).
In 83 chapters, subjects treated are town planning, house architecture, temple architecture, and sculptural arts together with Mudras (the different hand poses and the poses of the body as well as the postures of legs), the canons of painting, and a chapter on the art of mechanical contrivances, the yantras.

Bhoja (reigned c. 1010–1055 CE) was an Indian king from the Paramara dynasty. His kingdom was centered around the Malwa region in central India, where his capital Dhara-nagara (modern Dhar) was located. Bhoja fought wars with nearly all his neighbors in attempts to extend his kingdom, with varying degrees of success. At its zenith, his kingdom extended from Chittor in the north to upper Konkan in the south, and from the Sabarmati River in the west to Vidisha in the east.
भोज (शासनकाल १०१०-१०५५ सीई) परमार वंश के एक भारतीय राजा थे। उनका राज्य मध्य भारत में मालवा क्षेत्र के आसपास केंद्रित था, जहां उनकी राजधानी धारा-नगर (आधुनिक धार) स्थित थी। भोज ने अपने राज्य का विस्तार करने के प्रयासों में लगभग सभी पड़ोसियों के साथ युद्ध लड़े, सफलता की अलग-अलग डिग्री के साथ। अपने चरम पर, उसका राज्य उत्तर में चित्तौड़ से लेकर दक्षिण में ऊपरी कोंकण तक और पश्चिम में साबरमती नदी से पूर्व में विदिशा तक फैला हुआ था।
